Oulton Park – Fun Cup

It has been a while since I posted anything on the blog. So, I am now catching up on a few posts.

In October, I headed to Oulton Park to watch some motor racing. I was unsure of what meetings were on, but headed there as I was at a bit of a loose end and was itching to get my camera out.

Arriving at the circuit, I discovered that the meeting was part of the British Racing & Sports Car Club, and there were three events.

These were:

  • Ford XR Challenge: Click here for more details
  • TVR Challenge: Click here for more details
  • Funcup Championship: Click here for more details

Please see below some of my photos from the day, and of course please leave any comments :-)

First up was the Ford XR Challenge:

Next up on the bill was the TVR Challenge:

Then the main event, was the Funcup Championship:

Melanie & Paul – Happy Anniversary

Happy Anniversary to Melanie and Paul, who were my first official wedding clients.

I have not blogged these before as the website was not fully up and running. Now that it is, I thought that the anniversary would be an ideal time to show them

Melanie and Paul

Melanie and Paul were married at St John the Baptist Church in Atherton, Bolton. The reception was held later at The Manor Golf Club, Bolton.

Below are some of my favourite images taken during the day.

Chester Zoo

A few photos from a trip to Chester Zoo last Saturday.

A couple of the new cheetah cubs, who were very well behaved as people lined up to grab photos of them:

Twitter

Up until now, I have had two Twitter accounts, one personal (garethdjones), and one that I was attempting to use for my photography (photobygareth).

From now on I will be concentrating on my personal Twitter account and use this for everything I do.

The main reason being that it is quite difficult to update the two accounts.

Another reason for using only one account will also let people find out the real me. I think that this important when trying to build relationships and I hope that this brings new readers and clients to my website.

So, if you are on Twitter then please “Follow Me”

Darren and Stacey – Wedding (Preview)

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of photographing Darren and Stacey’s wedding at the Sporting Lodge Inn in Leigh.

For the happy couple, here is a sneak preview of one of the photos that I took yesterday.

I really hope that you both and all your family and friends enjoyed the day, and I would also like to thank you for letting me be a part of your special day.

A Weekend Away

Two weeks ago, I took Ellie and Liam away for the Bank Holiday weekend to my parents caravan in a small village called Tudweiliog on the Lleyn Peninsula in North Wales. Both of them absolutely love it there, and it was a welcome break from work.

We arrived in the early evening after making our way through rush-hour and the extra traffic that a bank holiday brings. After some pizza and a run around of the caravan site, it was time to get the two of them into bed. It didn’t take long for them both to crash out. I think the sea air was definitely helping!

Next morning, Ellie and Liam were up and about a little later than usual, but once they were up they were eager to have their “holiday breakfast”.

After breakfast, we decided that we would head down to the beach once the weather cleared up a little, for a couple of hours to let them burn off some energy.

Here they are burning some of that energy off chasing Grandad, who is doing his best impression of an aeroplane!!

Both Ellie and Liam spent a lot of time running in and out of the waves, and climbing on the rocks.

To say that they enjoyed themselves was an understatement. Laughing and screaming as they ran through the water getting soaked, they didn’t care that they were getting drenched!

We returned back to the beach later after some lunch, and the sun decided to show itself.

Digging in the sand….

In the water, again!

Having a well earned sit down…

This is an image I took of the beach during the morning when it was cloudy and overcast. Converting to black and white has created a moody picture, which I really like. Comments are more than welcome.

Over the next couple of days we spent some time back on the beach. One of the days was really bright and sunny, so we packed up a picnic and went for a walk along the headland to where we knew that there should be some seals.

While the seals enjoyed the sun, Ellie and Liam enjoyed splashing about in the water, in their wetsuits and wellies.

And the big problem with wellies and splashing in the sea is that you have to sit down and empty them every so often :-)

And at the end of it all, there were two exhausted children….
